Today we are going to prepare yet another way of making Nigerian Meat Pie. All the other meat pie recipes contain all purpose flour (plain flour) one way or the other but this one we are making today uses only Oat Flour, a healthy flour. Benefits of oat flour:
- Oat Flour is filled with good carbohydrates.
- Oat flour contains dietary fibre.
- It is great for diabetics and those with high blood pressure
Ingredients for Nigerian Meat Pie made with Oat Flour
For the Meat Pie with oat flour Filling
- 180g (6oz) beef mince or ground beef
- 1 small carrot
- 1 small potato
- ½ onion
- 1 tbsp oatflour
- 1 tsp thyme
- 1 seasoning cube
- Vegetable oil
- Salt (to taste)
For the Meat Pie with oat flour dough:
- 500g oat flour
- 175g margarine or butter
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- Cup cool water: see video for quantity
For glazing:
- 1 egg
