Flo's Favourite Nigerian Food & Drinks
The following are my favourite Nigerian foods and drinks. I placed them in the order I like them. Click on the food photos to visit the recipe page.
My Favourite Nigerian Rice Recipes
My favourite way to eat boiled white rice is with Ofe Akwu, followed by Stewed Veggies, then with Vegetable Sauce. Eating boiled white rice with Beef and Chicken Stew is usually my last choice.
Next is Concoction Rice, then lastly, Nigerian Fried Rice. Surprised? :D
My Favourite Nigerian Soups
If you follow me on my Facebook page, you will know that my favourite soup in the whole world is Ora (Oha) Soup. I love it and will readily eat Semolina with Ora Soup day in day out without complaints! My next best soup is Bitterleaf Soup, followed by Ogbono Soup then Okra Soup.
And are you ready for this??? One of my least favorite Nigerian soups is Egusi Soup! Yes I knowww, Egusi Soup is one of the most loved Nigerian Soups but I do not like it because it gives me heart burn. It is too "sweet" for me. If I have to eat Egusi Soup, I prepare it with bitter leaves. I can't eat the one prepared with Nigerian pumpkin leaves or spinach.
My Favourite Nigerian Snacks
My favourite Nigerian snacks change quite often. As soon as I discover a new one, I jump on that for sometime till I get a new favourite.
Right now, I am loving Plantain Pies. They are the best! But my all time favourite Nigerian snack is Chin Chin. I may love other snacks from time to time but I think I will love Chin Chin for ever and ever!
Next is Nigerian Kpof Kpof (Puff Puff). I love that snack die because one does not need much effort to eat the spongy puffs. Then Nigerian Cakes! This is not sponge cakes, there is a whole lot of difference between the Nigerian dense, moist cakes and sponge cakes. Try it and see for yourself. ;D
Then I also love club sandwich because it is so easy to prepare and it is easy on the mouth too. The list is endless so let me stop here. :)
My Favourite Nigerian Drinks
I recently discovered Tiger Nuts Drink and I am loving it sooo much but my all time favourite Nigeria drink is Nigerian Chapman. If you have not tasted this drink, try it and see for yourself.
